Notes

Young Coffee’s house blend, roasted in Spain and drawn entirely from Colombian lots. The bag describes it as “Balanced & Smooth” and prints no processing, varietal, or elevation. This is an everyday drinker rather than a traceable micro-lot, and the profile treats it accordingly.

Expect dark chocolate and caramel doing the heavy lifting, with orange and lemon lifting the finish. That citrus is worth protecting: it is the first thing to disappear if the brew is pushed too hot or too long, leaving a flat cocoa-only cup.

Profile placed in the middle of the range that suits medium washed Colombians. The Asprotimana Women’s Coffee and Ikore Kofi Colombia Santa Monica both land on 1:16 with constant 93.5°C, and this blend has no distinguishing characteristic that argues for departing from them. The bloom is set at 1:2.5 / 35s: generous enough to even out a blend’s mixed bean densities, but short of the 40s reserved for lots with confirmed high-altitude density.
